or third position.

indicate a string to
be nulled out by keeping the numbered fingers close enough to the string so that it does not play.

Pluck the strings using thumb for the bass and three fingers for the higher strings.

THE KEY OF G HAS ONE SHARP
In the key of G Major the major 7th or natural 7th tone of the G major scale
is F# and appears in notation after the G clef sign. In the key of G major all F's are sharped unless marked with a natural sign.
