Sodom Laurel Album continues

"Sodom Laurel Album" a major photographic exhibition from the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University, is the result of a twenty year photographic project/field study by documentary photographer Rob Amberg.  The exhibition and the accompanying book and CD comprise a chronicle of the two decades in which Amberg became part of the rural North Carolina community known colloquially as Sodom Laurel, located in the mountains not far from Asheville, N.C.

To expand the exhibition, art6 will present a lecture by Rob Amberg and a book signing on Sunday afternoon, May 9th at 4 pm.  The photographer will also be present at the opening of the exhibition, Friday, May 7th from 7 - 10 pm during the First Fridays Art Walk.

The exhibition is organized by the Center for Documentary Studies, with additional support from the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, Asheville Savings Bank, Madison County Arts Council, Farmer's Legal Action Group, Rural Advancement Foundation International, and Mountain Partners in Agriculture, as well as Sydney and Frances Lewis Foundation, Dr. and Mrs. William J. Frable, Willie Anne Wright and Anonymous.
